Blox Fruits: The Sound Fruit Defeats Rip Indra and Earns the Valkyrie Helmet

The Sound Fruit is one of the most visually striking fruits in Blox Fruits. Its abilities are built around musical notes, sound-based impacts, a large glowing sphere, and effects reminiscent of a dance floor. Behind its festive appearance, however, it can also deal heavy damage and make farming easier through area-of-effect attacks.

A mastery progression session with this fruit first led to battles against Doflamingo and Boa Hancock before ending at the Castle on the Sea. Above all, Rip Indra’s unexpected appearance turned this mastery grind into a major boss fight. The victory made it possible to obtain the Valkyrie Helmet.

Getting and equipping the Sound Fruit

The search for the Sound Fruit begins with several unsuccessful attempts. A random roll first gives the Smoke Fruit, which is already owned, while the dealer offers the Quake Fruit rather than the fruit being sought.

The Sound Fruit is eventually obtained and immediately equipped to discover its abilities and raise its mastery. From the first tests, it stands out through its strong musical identity: attacks produce melodies and send notes flying around the target.

The fruit also displays an indicator called the Tempo Meter. Its exact function is not established during the fights, but it accompanies the use of musical abilities.

The first abilities: notes, trumpet blasts, and a disco sphere

At the start, the Sound Fruit can already launch musical notes that hit enemies from a distance. These attacks are used against Doflamingo, but the boss proves resilient and regenerates health during the battle, making the encounter much harder.

Switching to the Buddha Fruit then makes it easier to withstand damage while continuing to use sound-based attacks. This combination offers a safer approach against bosses: the Sound Fruit retains its damage and area effects, while Buddha form helps the player remain close to the target.

At 114 mastery, two new techniques become available:

  • Fortissimo, an attack resembling a powerful trumpet blast;
  • Symphonic Radiance, which creates a large glowing sphere similar to a disco ball.

Symphonic Radiance quickly becomes one of the fruit’s most useful abilities. The sphere moves, leaves notes on the ground, and hits several enemies. It can therefore be used to draw opponents in and gather them within the same area.

This ability is especially effective for raising mastery: rather than bringing in each enemy individually, it is enough to place the sphere in the middle of the group. Monsters gather around the effect, speeding up attack chains.

Raising mastery against Boa Hancock

After Doflamingo, progression continues on Hydra Island against Boa Hancock. These fights confirm the power of the abilities already unlocked, especially the ability to chain notes and area attacks.

Farming Boa Hancock does, however, require several server changes. The boss is sometimes already being attacked or has been defeated by other players, leaving little time to earn the experience needed. When she is available, Boa Hancock remains a useful target for continuing the mastery grind.

This stage also brings an unexpected discovery: the Serpent Bow. The weapon is identified as a legendary item. An initial test suggests that it can poison enemies, but its use remains secondary, since the main goal is to complete the Sound Fruit’s progression.

Tempo Prestissimo: moving by surfing on notes

At 250 mastery, the Sound Fruit unlocks Tempo Prestissimo. This ability is primarily for mobility: the character moves through the air by surfing on musical notes.

Like many movement-key abilities in Blox Fruits, Tempo Prestissimo makes it easier to travel between islands and reach an ongoing battle or event. Above all, its animation reinforces the fruit’s identity: movement itself becomes a musical performance.

At this point, the Sound Fruit is no longer just a damage tool. It combines ranged attacks, a powerful area ability, and aerial mobility, making it enjoyable for both fighting and exploration.

A stop at Chocolate Island before the Castle on the Sea

The final part of the mastery grind takes place on Chocolate Island. Enemies in the area are used to progress through the last levels, with Symphonic Radiance serving as the main attack for grouping targets together.

A Pirate Raid at the Castle on the Sea is meant to conclude the process. The goal is twofold: finish the Sound Fruit’s mastery and try to obtain a fruit as a reward. The first attempt yields nothing despite arriving at the castle in time.

A fruit also appears during the journey, but it turns out to be the Bomb Fruit. Later, another spawn provides the Light Fruit. These finds do not replace the original objective, but they punctuate a progression already full of unexpected events.

Rip Indra appears: an unplanned fight against 190,000 HP

The real turning point comes with the appearance of Rip Indra. The boss has 190,000 HP, and the battle takes place with many players surrounding him. The situation makes the encounter confusing, but it also allows damage to be dealt collectively.

Rip Indra regenerates health during the fight, increasing the difficulty. The attacks have to continue without letting up, using the Sound Fruit’s abilities among the other fighters. The notes, sound impacts, and glowing areas all contribute to the effort against the boss.

Victory eventually arrives, along with a particularly notable reward: the Valkyrie Helmet. This item was not the original goal, since the plan was simply to finish raising the Sound Fruit’s mastery.

Rip Indra also plays an important role in the path to Tushita. Find the steps for that other quest in our guide on how to get Tushita in Blox Fruits.

Mastery completed during the Pirate Raid

The Pirate Raid eventually returns to the Castle on the Sea. This time, the final enemies make it possible to reach the Sound Fruit’s maximum mastery level. Fragments are obtained at the end of the raid, but the hoped-for fruit reward goes to another player.

The progression still ends spectacularly thanks to the final ability, Glorious Harmony. It creates several orbs that spin around the character before being released. The projectiles then explode in several directions, producing a particularly impressive visual effect.

The Sound Fruit proves much more compelling than it may appear at first. Its kit combines music, area control, damage, and movement while offering genuine usefulness for farming. It does not replace fruits specialized for every situation, but its style and attacks make it a very complete option.
